Baby #5, 6, and 7: Part 1

Tonight‘s a pretty big night for the family. It‘s Stewie‘s birthday!! He was so excited when he woke up this morning because he couldn‘t wait to become the same age as Brian so the two of them could spend more time with one another. I was pretty busy most of the day with the girls and making arrangements for a small party that I wasn‘t able to clean up the mess in the kitchen from the broken sink. Just my luck that it breaks on such an important night. My sweet little Brian made sure to clean everything up to make his younger brother‘s birthday very special.

Stewie hardly seem to mind that his father, Torgo, wasn‘t able to make it to the party. Even at his advanced age, Torgo was apparently working night shifts at the local bistro and couldn‘t attend the party. He did promise to make it to the next one, but like I said, Stewie barely seemed to notice. He was just happy to have his family surrounding him. This could just be a mother‘s opinion, but I think he turned out to be just as adorable as his big brother.

Did I mention that a new friend of mine decided to attend the party? We had just met a few nights ago, but he seemed to be a really sweet guy. His name was Willie something. Give me a second, it‘s on the tip of my tongue.

Willie Nelson, that was it…what a funny name right? I could have sworn that I had heard the name somewhere before, but he assured me that he wasn‘t anyone special.

I assured him that he was and asked him if he would like to be the next father in my 100 baby challenge. I was really turning the charm on tonight. I didn‘t think that Willie would be able to resist. Unfortunately, he shares Brian‘s absent-mindedness and soon forgot what we were talking about. I really hope that Brian‘s forgetfulness never gets this bad or he might burn the whole kitchen down one day.

I invited Willie inside so that I could run upstairs and check on the girls. As I suspected, they both needed to be changed and fed.

While I was gone, Willie was more then happy to entertain the boys. He really did have a great sense of humor and proved it to them by making all sorts of crazy faces. Unfortunately, the girls required more of my attention and by the time I finally was able to get them to go back to sleep as well as put the boys to bed, Willie was pretty tired himself so we agreed to meet back up when things were a little less hectic around the house.

The next morning, I watched as both of my boys got on the school bus and headed to school. When the bus was finally out of sight, I picked up my cell phone and hired a baby sitter to watch the girls. I didn‘t want to leave them, but the family was running a little low on money and I had read on my computer that gem hunting was a great way to make money. I spent the entire morning out gem hunting – collecting several different kinds – before heading back home to check on the girls and get something to eat.

AN OUTSIDER HAS ENTERED OUR HOME!!

Okay so maybe it‘s not that big of a deal to some people, but this is the first person that has ever come home with either of my boys and I was so excited to see that they were indeed making friends at school. Brian, Stewie, and their little friend all sat around the kitchen table to do their homework before spending the rest of the evening playing tag. It was so cute to watch, I really hope that he comes back for a visit.

The girls birthday quickly approached. The boys were both at school so it would just be the three of us to celebrate the twins birthday. I brought each of the girls up to their birthday cakes excited to see what they would look like in their toddler years. Would they look like their father? Would they look like me?

This was Bonnie…

And this was Meg…

The girls looked identical aside from their different hair colors, but that wasn’t the only thing different about them. The girls was as different from one another as day and night. Meg loved her logic block while Bonnie enjoyed the xylophone. Bonnie was a night owl while Meg would sleep during the night and stay awake during the day.

It would be kind of cute if only I would get a little time in between to sleep. Ever since the girls aged into toddlers, I have felt so exhausted. I have to be awake every couple of hours to either feed, change, or attempt to potty train one of the girls. Sometimes I feel like I’m just a walking zombie or something, but I know it’s not their fault. They can’t help their differences.

Even with all the exhaustion from trying to keep up with the girls night/day schedules, I somehow managed to remember that it was a very extraordinary night tonight. There was just one person that I need to call and invite over before the night could officially begin.

Jeff Morrison rang the doorbell around 9 o‘clock that night. It had been years since I had seen him last, but when I told him that his son, Brian would be growing into a teenager tonight, he was happy to drive over and attend the small party.

Everyone was really excited about Brian aging into a teenager. We all wanted to cheer him on as loudly as we could. He stood before the cake for several minutes, thinking very carefully about what he wanted to wish for.

Regrettably, the cake burst into flames. At first, I was so glad that I had invited Jeff because he was in the military. I just knew that he would be brave enough to extinguish the flames before they spread to the entire house. Did he act courageously? Sadly, no..he started screaming and freaking out like a little girl. Definitely not setting the best example for his son.

I rushed the boys out of the kitchen and told them to wait outside in the front lawn until I told them that it was safe to come back inside. I had never dealt with a fire before, but I knew that I needed to call the fire department. As I watched the fire spread from the cake to the table it was sitting on, I realized that I couldn‘t wait any longer. My entire house would be destroyed by the time the fire department arrived. I had to act now and pray that I didn‘t catch on fire in my attempt to put it out. The flames began to subside as I continued to spray the fire extinguisher.

Outside on the front lawn, the boys watched as the fire woman just stood there, looking blankly at the front door. She was completely useless. I could have lost my entire home if I had waited for her to actually figure out how to come inside and put the fire out.

And now, my little boy‘s birthday party was ruined. The birthday cake was destroyed, the table was burnt to a crisp, and the floor would take hours to clean. I felt like bursting into tears because I knew how much Brian was looking forward to this party, and now it was ruined.

What was I going to do? How was I going to be able to make this up to him?
